The CNY AFNYST meeting was held on June 15, 2021 at Jake’s Grub & Grog in Brewerton. The meeting was opened by President Ed Rood, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. A moment of silence was held for our sick and departed members, as well as law enforcement everywhere. President Rood also included in the moment of silence, the following CNY members that have passed away since our last meeting : Robert P. Faynor, Daniel J. Arcuri, Raymond A. Miller, Frederick A. Smith, Donald E. Brandstetter, and Ralph M. Viscardi.

The meeting was attended by : Mike Walser, Doug Gilmore, Robert Smith, Steven Bourgeois, Alvin Wagner, Jack Baum, Rick Sauer, Mike Kaiser, Tom Rogers, Frank Jerome, Thomas Irwin, Erwin Brandl, John Praskey, Mike Gilmour, Tom Costello, Paul Mick Ammerman, Jack Morlock, Dick Lynch, Ken Kotwas, Gary Barlow, Dick Vogt, Bob Haumann, Don Fittipaldi, Susan Wood-Rautenstrauch, Nick Harmatiuk, Thom Robb, Pete Patterson, Paul Hammond, Ted Palmer, Don Barker, Ed Rood, George Hopper, Jeff Brown, and Philip Rougeux.

The following were voted in as new members : Tim Kelly, Mike Buck, Joe Loszynski, Joe Domagola, Steve Bourgeois, and Scott Heggelke.

President Rood advised that the state board is now in good standing with the IRS. He added that CNY has always been in good standing due to the work of Treasurer George Hopper, and our former Treasurer Mike Gilmour.

President Rood asked for a volunteer to head the nomination committee for our fall election. Mike Walser volunteered.

Secretary Brown advised that the funeral service for Dan Arcuri will be held on Thursday July 15, 2021 at 11 AM at Mount Carmel Church, 648 Jay St. Utica.

Treasurer report was given by George Hopper.

President Rood advised that the CNY clambake will be held on Saturday August 7, from 1 PM to 5 PM at the Liverpool Elks. The price for CNY member and 1 guest is $50 per person, any additional guest will be $53 per person. RESERVATIONS are required, and checks are due by July 28th. There will be no ‘WALK-INS’ allowed. The member making reservations is responsible for payment, and can be made by mailing a check for the appropriate amount. Checks should be made out to CNY Chapter AFNYST, and mailed to Edward Rood, 2793 St. Rt. 69 Camden, NY 13316. The menu will be the same as the last clambake.

New business : President Rood advised that the prices have been increasing for the meals at our meetings, and in the past the chapter absorbed any additional cost. President Rood made a motion to increase the price of our meals to $20, seconded by Dick Lynch. Motion carried.

Ted Palmer advised that the AFNYST state board has a

Dues and lifetime membership were discussed. Our annual dues are $15, of which our chapter keeps $7, and $8 goes to the state. If you have been a member for 5 years or more, AND are 65 or older you would qualify for lifetime membership. The lifetime dues are a one time payment of $80.

Vice President Don Barker thanked all that attended the meeting, saying it makes our ( officers ) job worthwhile.

It pays to come to the meetings…… Mick Ammerman gave each member that attended the meeting a 2021 Kennedy half dollar coin. Thank You, Mick !

President Rood advised that the next meeting will be held on Tuesday July 20th at Roselawn, 446 Main St. New York Mills. 6 PM social hour, 7 PM meal and meeting.
