Final Patrol: Investigator Michael J. Poleon (Retired)
It is with deep regret that Major James M. Hall, Troop “A” Commander, announces the death of retired Investigator Michael J. Poleon. Investigator Poleon passed away on December 25, 2021 at the age of 81 after a brief illness. At the time of his death, Investigator Poleon was residing in Wellington, Florida with his son Michael and daughter-in-law Gabrielle. Investigator Poleon joined the New York State Police on October 4, 1962, serving 32 years before retiring on May 18, 1994. Investigator Poleon was last assigned to Troop “A” BCI - SP Boston. Prior to joining the New York State Police, Investigator Poleon served in the United States Army from 1958-1961. Investigator Poleon is predeceased by his wife, Jean Poleon, and survived by his son, retired West Seneca Police Department Lieutenant Michael Poleon, son Thomas Poleon, and daughter Nancy Sifkovits.
The family will hold a private ceremony in Western New York at a later date.
