Final Patrol: Sergeant Jerome R. Wilson (Retired)

Jerome R. Wilson, 84, died on November 19, 2021 at the Lutheran Care Center. A long-time resident of Dutchess County, he also had spent several years in Florida and South Dakota before returning to New York in 2018.
Born in Grand Rapids, MI on October 13, 1937, Jerry was the son of the late George and Sophia (Yadach) Wilson. He proudly served in the US Navy on the USS Lowry and then served in the US Naval Reserves out of Poughkeepsie. Jerry retired as Sergeant from the New York State Police in Stormville in 1985 after 20 years of service. He was a past member of the New York State Police PBA, C.S.E.A., the American Motorcycle Association, and the John Birch Society.
Jerry is survived by his children, Linda Balkanli and her husband Alphan of Wappingers Falls, Lisa Wilson of Somers, Christopher Wilson and his wife Lorri of Danbury, CT, and Jeannine Harris of Cold Spring; his grandchildren, Jaclyn, Gabriela, Alessandra, Luciana, Augustine, Jacob, Joshua, Isabella, Zachary, and Zoe; his brother, Arnold Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 6-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday at 10 am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
