[Source: Ted Palmer - CNY]

James V. Jeffery went on his Final Patrol June 25, 2022 in Huston, TX, where he lived with his daughter. He was a Marine, Aug 1951 - Aug 1954 Final resting is at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Houston. Military services were held July 5, 2022. He was 88. Jim served July 30, 1959 - March 30, 1978 , Troop "D" & "T" and was a member of the CNY Chapter, Assoc of Former NYS Troopers. Donations may be made in his name to St Judes Childrens Hospital. (https://stjude.org) His father, Frederick P Jeffery, was "on the job" 1929 - 1933.

I became friends with Jim while we worked at Ryder as transfer drivers. He later transferred to Florida with the company. All Troopers have a stories, his was about his father's collar ornament worn when the Troop letter and an assigned number were used. The number, I believe is correct, however a more modern ornament was used to generate the facsimile. He had permission to wear his fathers. When he came on, 1959, the Troop and number were still used. Later while at the academy it came up missing after and officer chastised him for wearing it. If you knew Jim, *#%&/##, his words about it would be pointed. /TMP
