Joseph H. Koson, age 85, of Warsaw, formerly of Perry, NY passed away on Friday September 30, 2022 at his home.
He was born on October 26, 1936 in Perry, New York a son of the late Valentine and Mary (Osiakowski) Koson.
Joe served with the US Navy from 1954-1957.
He was a Zone Sergent for the New York State Police Department working throughout the State lastly retiring from the barracks in Geneseo in 1979.
Joe was a member of St. Isidore’s Catholic Parish (St. Stanislaus Kostka Church) in Perry, the Constellation Lodge #404 of the Free and Accepted Masons, Shriners Club and the American Legion McKelton Post #350 in Perry.
He had a love for motorcycles owning over 60 in his lifetime, he enjoyed taking motorcycles that were in disrepair and restore them back to their original beauty, he was also an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife: Eleanor “Anne” (Tillotson) Koson whom he married on August 20, 1960, daughter: Joanne (Jeffery) Piraino of Perry, son: Joseph (Anne) Koson of Silver Springs, Sister: Mary (James) Roberts of Euless, TX., sister-in-law: Marion Koson of Perry, 6 grandchildren: Tiffany (Matt Catlin) Koson, Ross (Kaci) Piraino, Nathaniel (Janelle) Koson, Brent (Savannah Casselberry) Piraino, Sara (Matt Webster) Piraino and Scott (Danielle) Piraino, great grandchildren: Tyler, Emalyn, Maverick, Jaxson, Tristen and Arianna along with many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by brothers: John and Walter Koson.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Joe will be laid to rest in the West Perry Cemetery in Perry.
