Niagara Chapter October Newsletter 2021
The Regular Monthly Meeting of the Niagara Frontier Chapter of the Former New York State Troopers was held on October 6, 2021 at Magruder's Restaurant, located at 4995 Broadway Avenue in Depew. Meeting was called to order by President Terry Sutton at 8:00 PM. Followed was the Pledge of Allegiance to Our Flag and then a Moment of Silence for Our Sick and Departed Members and those Brave Men and Women in Our Armed Forces Serving Our Country and Those on the Front Lines Fighting the Covid 19 Pandemic.
President Terry Sutton asked if members were receiving the monthly newsletter and asked for a motion to accept. Motion was made by Greg Wildridge and seconded by Harry Perry to accept the minutes of the September meeting that was sent to each member via e-mail.
The State Board Meeting held at the Calvary Club in Manlius on September 18, 2021 was attended by President Terry Sutton and Vice President John Loncher. Terry forwarded the minutes of that meeting to members via e-mail.
Membership cards for 2022 may be available after the next state board meeting in November.
Vice President John Loncher reported 29 members attended the meeting

Treasurer Lloyd Schwab read the financial report for September 2021. A motion to accept the report was made by Bill Gethoefer and seconded by Tom Rash.
A Thank You letter was received from Joseph DeMarco who is the Founder and Volunteer Pilot of the Wings Flight of Hope for the $100.00 donation. The mission is to provide free flights of hope to those in need.
The Next State Board Meeting will be held on Saturday November 13, 2021.
Niagara Chapter Christmas Party will be held on Friday December 10, 2021.
Flyers were e-mailed to members and mailed to those without e-mail addresses.
Tickets are available at tonight's meeting.

All current officers have decided to remain in office
Election to the candidate positions remain unopposed – nominations closed
Secretary will cast one vote for election at the November meeting
The next meeting of the SWFLRT/NY luncheon will be held on November 10, 2021 at the Sea-Craft Dockside Tiki in Fort Myers, Florida. Please contact Bob Browning if you are planning to attend at firstname.lastname@example.org
A request was received from Michael Connors for a donation to the Special Olympics Polar Plunge. Motion was made to donate $100.00 by Frank Panek and seconded by Sal DeJesus.

The Annual Membership Meeting of the Former Troopers Helping Hands will be held at the November meeting.
There will be a discussion at the next meeting at a possible change in the monthly meeting venue.

The Board of Directors met with the Financial Advisor Connor Casey on September 22.
Annual Helping Hands Board Meeting was held on September 25.
Helping Hands will be kept local, not join up with a state wide charity association.
Bill Curtin will give a report of the finances at the November meeting.

No further nominations and nominations were closed.
Election will take place at November meeting with the Niagara Frontier Chapter secretary casting one vote for the current board.
Volunteer Respresentatives: Greg Wildridge, Bill Gourlay, Kathleen Pawlak
A donation of $10,000 was made to Trooper Paul and Melinda Stedman for their 11 month old child Joseph who is in need of a liver transplant.
Contact emails were sent to representatives from Roswell Park and Children's Hospital.
Niagara Chapter members were asked to reach out and suggest individuals who have wishes that need to be granted.
There are 10 unpaid numbers which are available.
Eight weeks of drawings were conducted at the September Monthly Meeting.
