TRI-STATES NEWSLETTER, August 2022 Our Chapter met on August 10th at Delancey’s in Goshen, NY with the following attending Caridi, Bill Nuzzo, Sitler, Cunningham, Wentink, Tom Dunn, Garrison, Heppes, Geoghan, Duryea, Hank Dunn, Duffy, Hudson, Sweetman. (14 members). The meeting opened with The Pledge of Allegiance, a moment of silence for our deceased members, military personnel, emergency responders and an opening prayer. Final Patrol: Noted was the passing of Helen McDonagh, age 74 on 7/24. Helen was the widow of SP Monroe Trooper William McDonagh and the sister of retired Lt. Col. Jim O’Donnell. Sick Leave: Chapter treasurer Mike Escobar had recent oral surgery and due to adverse reactions to antibiotics was unable to attend our meeting. A review of attendance records dating back 7 years revealed that despite significant health issues; Mike never misses a meeting. We wish him a speedy recovery. Chapter member Mike Glick is in St. Anthony’s Hospital in Warwick NY, facing a possible loss of some toes due to his struggle with diabetes. He can be contacted at (843) 455-3485. The Chapter treasurers report was approved. It was noted that Ron Heppes will be celebrating his 90th birthday this September 11th. Congrats to Ron. Retired Senior Investigator Dave Darling is "re-retiring" following his seventeen-year post state police stint as the Village of Catskill Police Chief. Prior to his retirement from the state police, Dave was selected as the Division's "Supervisor of the Year". The 50/50 was won by Greg Sitler. The attendance award was won by Tom Dunn. The next regular meeting is Wednesday September 14, 2022, at Danny’s in Wurtsboro.
