TRI-STATES NEWSLETTER, September 2022 Our Chapter met on September 14th at Danny’s in Wurtsboro, NY with the following attending: Bill Nuzzo, Terry Mullen, Caridi, Ross, Wentink, Tom Dunn, Glick, Wierzbicki, John Richichi, Figueroa, Sitler, Dick Mendres (guest), Foster, Kragh, Garrison, Henry Dunn, Gillespie, Scribner, Marek, Dechon, Jones. (20 members and 1 guest). The meeting opened with The Pledge of Allegiance, a moment of silence for our deceased members, military personnel, emergency responders and an opening prayer. Final Patrol: Noted was the passing of retired Sgt/SC Peter Arteaga (Troop C), age 75 on 7/4; retired Sgt. Floyd Chromyszak, (Troop C- 9/11 related), age 61 on 8/23; retired Sr. Inv. Ray Salvie (Troop D – Iwo Jima veteran), age 97 on 9/2. Rest In Peace all. Sick Leave: It was good to see Mike Glick at the meeting, recovering from the loss of two toes recently (he quipped that now he can only count to 18!) Chapter treasurer Mike Escobar will be giving up his position due to health issues. We will be looking to identify and elect a successor at the October meeting, to take effect in 2023. The Chapter treasurers report was approved. Three new members were accepted into the Chapter: Retired Sr. Inv Terrence F. Mullen, Troop F & H, retired in 2012; retired Inv. Carlos E. Figueroa, Troop F & VFW, retired in 2004; Retired Inv. Joseph A. Franchi, Troop K & SP Manhattan, retired in 1981. Welcome aboard. Noted, that the pension COLA will be 3% (highest ever). Generally, retiree must be over 62 and retired for 5 years. Flu shots will be available at SP Middletown on Wednesday 9/21 from 2PM to 5PM. Available to all members, employees and retirees. The next regular meeting is Wednesday October 12, 2022, at Delancey’s in Goshen, NY
