Our Chapter met on June 9th at “My Place” in New Windsor, NY with the following attending: Sitler, Escobar, Gunn, Cunningham, Caridi, Hughes, Bob Murphy, Bill Murphy, Sweetman, Hayes, Lane, John Richichi, Garrison, Irish, Thorpe, Wentink, Hope Wentink (guest), John Wentink, (guest), Maria Wentink (guest). (16 members, 3 guests.)

The meeting opened with The Pledge of Allegiance and opening prayer. Special thanks to Linda Gunn for providing pies for dessert.

Final Patrol: Noted was the passing of retired Trooper Peter Wernecke (T-Kingston) in November 2020; retired Inv. Richard eggleston (Troop G), age 73 on 5/15. Rest In Peace.

Sick Leave: Chapter President Dick Thorpe advise the Chapter VP Don Plunkett is still in Castle Point VA Hospital following a surgical procedure. His contact number is (845) 544-9102.

The Chapter treasurers report was approved.

Presentation of the 2021 Jack Stein Memorial Scholarship Award was made to Hope Wentink from Maybrook, NY. Hope is the granddaughter of Chapter member John Wentink and the late Bill Treco. She was accompanied by her parents John and Maria Wentink. She thanked the Chapter and plans to pursue a career in the field of animal care. A certificate and check for $1,000 were presented to her at the meeting. Congratulations Hope.

A thank you note was received from Pat Reynolds, widow of Chapter member Frank Reynolds for the NYSP patch wreath given to her in his memory. A Thank you note and donation was received from the family of Chapter member John Cuneo Sr., for the NYSP patch wreath given to Lucille in his memory.

The Chapter approved a motion to make a donation to Linda Gunn to cover expenses related to her providing desserts at our Chapter meetings.

The 50/50 was won by Dick Thorpe. The attendance award was won by Charlie Lane.

The next regular meeting is Wednesday July 14th, at “My Place”.
