Trooper Alicia Gorka

[Source: NFC - Terry Sutton]

In case you had not heard about Trooper Alicia Gorka, she is a Silver Creek native who graduated from the State Police Academy in March and was assigned to Troop D. She was injured in an off-duty accident Thursday May 12, 2022 near Watertown, NY. Trooper Gorka was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Watertown and then transferred to a Syracuse hospital, where she underwent surgery on her legs. She is currently rehabilitating at her parent’s home in Silver Creek

Don Munch and I along with our wives had the pleasure of meeting Alicia and her parents, Mary and Marty Gorka at their residence in Silver Creek. After telling “old trooper tales” and passing on NYSP career advice to Alicia, Don and I revealed the real reason for our visit, which was to provide her with financial support from the Former Trooper Helping Hands. We hope this will help ease some of the financial burden on Alicia and her parents until she is able to return to duty.

A special thanks to Kathleen Gellart for bringing Alicia to the attention of the Niagara Frontier Chapter and Former Troopers Helping Hands.
