Updates from NYSTPBA President Tom Mungeer

NYSTPBA Newsletter Updates from NYSTPBA President Tom Mungeer Through the efforts of our state’s Attorney General - who coincidentally is likely to announce her gubernatorial ambitions this week - Trooper Christopher Baldner sits in the Ulster County Jail without bail on murder charges for performing his duties as a New York State Trooper. He is suspended without pay for at least 30 days and has a wife and two children, ages 13 and 10. Again, the NYSTPBA sends our condolences to the family of the child who died in the December 2020 crash. It has been relayed to us that the driver of the vehicle – the father of the child who was killed - will soon be arrested on charges related to that incident. He will most likely benefit from the new, misplaced bail reform measures; however, our member did not. The NYSTPBA has and will continue to support Trooper Baldner legally since the incident last December. However, we would appreciate any financial support you can offer to his family to help support them in their time of need. The NYSTPBA’s Signal 30 Benefit Fund is accepting donations on behalf of Trooper Baldner and his family. To donate, visit the Signal 30 website at https://signal30benstg.wpengine.com/online-donations/ and in the line for “Specific fundraising event or in memory of” please type in the words “Trooper Baldner.” In addition, you can write a check to the Signal 30 Benefit Fund and in the memo line write “Trooper Baldner” and mail it to: NYSTPBA Signal 30 Benefit Fund, 48 Howard St., Albany, NY 12207. Thank you for your time and consideration. This email is an automated notification, which is unable to receive replies. To send a comment to the NYSTPBA, please contact us at nystpba@nystpba.org.
