NYSTPBA Newsletter Updates from the NYSTPBA Board of Directors Upcoming Trial for Woman Charged with Assaulting Trooper The trial against Deyanna Davis, the woman who recklessly drove through a police blockade on June 1, 2020 during the Buffalo riot - severely injuring one of our members, Trooper Ron Ensminger - is set to start on December 12 in Erie County Court. She faces two counts of assault in the first degree as a result of her indictment a year ago. As this is a public forum, anyone who is not a part of the case and is not going to testify is welcome to attend and support Ron. Change of Insurance Broker As a reminder, the preferred broker for voluntary insurance policies has changed from Epic Risk Solutions to Promark Partners & Sheridan Benefits. We assure you that your existing policies – life, disability, or retiree supplemental dental and/or vision – remain in effect. Election for NYSTPBA President In accordance with the NYSTPBA Constitution, since the position of President was vacated within 18 months of the commencement of the term, a special election will be held. The schedule for this election is as follows: Nomination & petition period opens (forms mailed from PBA office): December 22, 2022 Nominations due: January 19, 2023 Campaign letters due: January 26, 2023 Ballots & candidate letters mailed: February 9, 2023 Ballot count: March 9, 2023 Start of new term: April 1, 2023 NYSTPBA Store One of the items that can be purchased through the NYSTPBA’s store is a tri-fold wallet, which includes a billfold, ID window and credit card slots. The ID size is 2 ½” x 3 ½”. The wallet can be purchased either plain ($20) or with an embossed New York state seal ($25). This item can be purchased online or in-person at our store at the PBA’s 120 State Street office in Albany. The store is located on the first floor of the building, next to the legal department.
